How Do Anti-Aging Creams Work?

by Gene Weitz on January 11, 2011

One of the most often heard questions we get is How do anti aging creams work? Many people want to experience the joy of a more youthful appearance, so they turn to anti-aging creams rather than invasive surgical procedures. There are several of these products on the market and many are very affordable.

How Do Anti-Aging Creams Work? The ways that each type of cream reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles varies. Some work on top of the skin while others work under the skin to provide REAL changes.

Hiding Wrinkles Using Makeup

While not exactly an anti aging cream, there are some foundations that can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles by adding SPF, minerals or Kinetin to their products. These include brands such as Almays Kinetin Skin Smoothing Foundation and RareMinerals Skin Revival Treatment. For a little more on the subject, a epinions writer has a great breakdown of the Almay product and the effect.

Antioxidant Skin Care Creams

There are many products out there that use antioxidants like Vitamins A, C, E, and beta carotene, most of which are ingested in a table form but some of which are available as a skin care cream. In doing research for this post, we have found that most references to using these products do not feel that there is a huge benefit of decreased wrinkles or fine lines. A, C, E, and beta carotene. According to the vanderbilt.edu site, merely taking antioxidant supplements will not correct the loss of skin elasticity or make the facial skin look younger.

Hydroxy acids Anti Aging Creams

Hydroxy acids Anti Aging Creams work by acting as an exfoliate, removing old cells, allowing for the creation of new ones.

Collagen Anti Aging Creams

Creams that contain peptides stimulate the bodys natural production of collagen. Collagen helps plump the skin which can greatly reduce lines and wrinkles. It also improves the elasticity of the skin which is almost the equivalent of getting a facelift. Many products on the market today work by improving your bodys collagen production.

Tricutan Anti Aging Creams

These patented anti aging wrinkle creams have been tested by scientists and dermatologists and found to tighten the skin, help to rebuild damaged collagen layers deep within the skin and most importantly, reinvigorate underlying facial muscles. Tricutan increases the contraction of the cells on the skins surface, reducing and smoothing wrinkles, stimulates the production of proteins (collagen and elastin) making skin firm and elastic AND it activates muscles under your skin. In the United States and Canada, Tricutan is marketed as Great Results Facial Serum and Dermyn.

You CAN achieve the desired results that you are looking for if you find the right product that works well for you. Most products will have a varying effect depending on the individual but start with something that is known to have a beneficial effect and then figure out what is right for you!

Aging Gracefully!

I've always laughed at how ignorant I (willing to take blame) was when I was 16 years old.  Remember you couldn't wait to be 16 then 21, 24....  Years have passed and age has set  in.  16 was so long ago.  Know we keep trying to remember our age and realize we've missed a few years some where.

Thru the years I have tried hard to prevent the signs of aging as much as possible, eating healthy, caring for my skin and paying close attention to my health.  Krill oil has been my savor.  The anti-aging properties it has because of its wonderful antioxidant (Astaxanthin) has been remarkable.  It has taken some time but I do notice a difference in my skin health as well as my overall health.  The other wonderful product I have absolutely loved is Muvazi.  This product has been the best for my skin when combined with krill oil.  Muvazi is a skin renewal system that really lets you love the skin you're in.

I'm 42 years of age and I feel wonderful.

Best Anti Aging Products

by Gene Weitz on October 28, 2010

The best anti aging products and wrinkle treatment creams help us look younger and reduce signs of aging as we get older. While many anti aging products work only on the top of your skin, we have found that products that use natural plant extracts and which are able to penetrate deep into the skin work best.

We all know the signs; bags under our eyes, creases around our mouth and between our eyebrows, crows feet, age spots wrinkles and sagging. All signs that we are getting older. Combating the signs of aging is huge industry and if you do not arm yourself with knowledge about how anti aging products work, you could find that you have spent a lot of money with few results.

Anti Aging Treatments

There are many ways to improve the look of your skin, some more invasive than others. Here are a few ways that you may be considering:

  • Facelift plastic surgery This is the most invasive type of anti aging treatment, involving a high price tag, hospital or outpatient time and weeks of recovery time.
  • Botox - While Botox is less expensive than a facelift, Botox injections carry this warning from the NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information), OnabotulinumtoxinA injection may spread from the area of injection and cause symptoms of botulism, including severe or life threatening difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • Anti Aging Skin Care Creams - While there are literally THOUSAND of skin care creams out in the marketplace today, we recommend the Great Results® product line which has been brought to America by our parent company SmartScience Laboratories, Inc.
